A summary of what happened during the game sessions:

December 21, 2001 - Session 21

The party paused to investigate what they heard at the end of one of the flooded tunnels. The water in this one moved slightly, as if an underground river flowed past on the other side of the wall. Sana cast light on a few stones and tossed them into the far end, but nothign was revealed; the stones sank too deeply for the light to show anything. While looking around and debating about how to get an item that would float on top fo the water, Jon pointed to behind Sana, who didn't quite get it at first. Then, she removed a feather, cast Light upon it, and using a spell, floated it to the other end of the flooded cave. However, it still revealed nothing in hiding.

Suddenly, the group was attacked from two sides. Two creatures that looked like a combination of a giant ant and a giant scorpion were on Jack and Ezhno, and one was attacking Hildegaarde and Margaret. The battle was quickly joined. Then, the one that had been hiding in the formerly darkened flooded tunnel charged out at Sana, but missed its attack.

After a time, in which Jack got poisoned and paralyzed by one of the creature's stingers, it was realized that the creatures were regenerating. And moments after that, the creatures created darkness that Sana's light spells could not penetrate. It was tough going for a while, but in the end they managed to kill all the creatures without taking too much damage. Discretion being the better part of valor (and the fact that many spells had been used in the fight), they decided to retreat to the barracks and sleep and recover.

They headed back when they were done resting, and this time headed down to the third level. Once more, there was no draining sensation from button. Sana stayed on the platform after the first group exited at the third floor, and it brought her to the fourth, which was the bottom of the cavern. She had someone atop press the button to bring her back up. Two more trips, the group finally ended up on the third floor and began to investigate it.
