A summary of what happened during the game sessions:

June 8, 2001 - Session 10

The group met the other adventuring party early in the evening. They were hailed, and after a brief check, from and on both sides, they were invited to camp with the other group. Introductions were made all around. The other group, named by their bard as Finn's Follies, consisted of:

Finn Cadastare, a male half-dragon/half-githzerai monk
Zachariah, a male human bard
Phadian Gess, a male half-elven ranger
Anastrianna, a female half-elven/half-celestial fighter
Jallarzi, a female human rogue
Vallan Durinheart, a male dwarven fighter/cleric of The High Lord
Yolena, a female half-orc former barbarian/paladin of The Shield Lord
Marcasta Ravenhair, a female human wizard
and Antonia, Marcasta's female cat familiar

Anna made friendly overturns to Sana, but was somewhat rebuffed. Sana's celestial parent, it seemed, was no longer on this plane, and had left before Sana had fully realized her heritage, causing some obvious bitterness on Sana's part. Anna asked to speak with her privately later, and Sana agreed, though with reservation.

Marcasta and Rylan traded spells and notes, while Martin and Antonia traded stories off by themselves.

Rylan also talked to Vallan, this being the first time he had met a dwarf.

Jon took an interest in Yolena, and she talked to Ezhno about missing the plains. Zach was also very friendly, overly gregarious, and only slightly annoying. Sana was very much relieved when she asked the others if she was as bad as Zach, as was assured she was not.

Rylan and Winter also spoke to Anna about the elves where she was from. She indicated there was an elven enclave on the other side of the Whitefoam mountains (the name of the range that Portsmouth bordered), and that was where she came from. She and Marcasta and Jallarzi had crossed the mountains in a straight south-to-north trip, along a dangerous pass.

Margaret and Vallan also took some time out to discuss The High Lord and The Lady, this being the first time Margaret had met a cleric of The High Lord.

Finn and Winter spoke some on being half-dragons, and they also discussed what each group was doing. The others finally either made the connection or were finally told that Winter's appearance was related to him being a half-dragon.

Finn's Follies were based in Portsmouth, and they help keep the peace between adventures. While not on a specific quest, as are our heroes, Finn hinted that he was looking for something, but has not yet found it.

The rest of the night passed uneventfully (Sana and Anna did take some time to go off and chat), nothing being willing (or able?) to test such a large group's mettle. And in the morning, they headed in to Portsmouth. Anna recommended that the group stay at The Black Kine, the inn that Finn's Follies stayed at when in town.

Jack noticed that Portsmouth was a lot bigger than when he was here last Harvest Season. Most of the new construction however, was very shoddy, and didn't look like it would survive the Dark Season. To go with the construction were a lot more people as well.

Anna indicated that if the group needed to keep going west, over the mountains, there were some dwarves in Portsmouth building a temple, and they may be able to give advice on the best route. So Margaret, Sana, and Jon went to speak with the dwarves, and Ivana, the priestess who was having the temple built. She was a priestess of The Lady. The dwarves talked to Sana, while Jon and Margaret waited for the priestess. Ezhno wandered the city, as did Jack, and Rylan went on a tour of Portsmouth with Vallan.

Rooms had been reserved at the Kine for the group, with Sana and Margaret getting single rooms, Winter and Rylan sharing a room, Jack and Ezhno sharing a first-floor room, and Jon offering to work off his board and sleeping in the common room.

The dwarf heading the construction moved the waitees over to a roped-off area, and after hearing Sana's question, told her he'd meet her later at The Black Kine. Sana wandered off then to find a fletcher, where she ran into Jack and they bought new arrows and quarrels for Jack's new crossbow. He also traded in the old one he had.

Near to quitting time, Ivana showed up, to take a look at the progress and to heal any hurts taken during the day. After being told that she had visitors, she finished her tasks and came over to where Jon and Margaret waited. Jon donated all of his money, save a few coins, to the temple, much to Ivana's surprise and pleasure. Margaret and Ivana chatted for a while, with Ivana promising to come to their inn later, after the rest of her tasks were done, so they could talk shop.

Sana and Jack split up again, with Sana touring the city alone (and once more being asked if she was "an angel" by the locals), and Jack heading to a seedier bar than the Kine to sit and drink. By chance, Sana happened into the inn and went to sit with Jack. They talked for a time, then decided to head back to the Kine for dinner.
