Ashcroft goes, as does Evans
Like some people, I was thrilled when I heard of Ashcroft's potential (now fact) leaving.
And then he had to mention - what if the replacement is worse?
Then she had to mention the unthinkable.
I do not think he'd get confirmed, however.
And I must admit, I am amused at ***Dave's title to his post. I mourn for my good, lost comic now. *sighs* (kinda like my country)

It's hard to imagine someone worse. Ashcroft has managed to not even give us the Security for Liberty trade-off, but has attacked the latter while not giving us much of the former.
If we're going to have someone running the secret police, I at least want them to be competent at it.
